SYRACUSE, NY—On Friday, August 22, Service Employees International Union Local 200United’s Executive Board voted to endorse the following candidates running for statewide offices:

NYS Governor – Andrew Cuomo

NYS Lt. Governor – Kathy Hochul

NYS Attorney General – Eric Schneiderman

NYS Comptroller – Thomas DiNapoli

SEIU Local 200United takes its endorsement process very seriously and believes it is important to provide the candidates with an early endorsement. They all have a record of supporting our members and families, and the Local believes their leadership will help move the progressive agenda to benefit working men and women in New York.

“Governor Cuomo made our decision to endorse him much easier when he publicly supported a minimum wage increase to $10.10,” said Scott Phillipson, Local 200United President. “Our members know that raising standards for all New Yorkers is the right thing to do.”

SEIU Local 200United will be conducting five Meet the Candidates Nights around the state before announcing its full list of endorsed candidates in late September. All endorsement will be approved by SEIU Local 200United’s Executive Board, which is comprised of all dues paying members.
