TAP Lobby Day

Recently SEIU Local 200United sponsored a TAP Lobby Day for students at Skidmore, Vassar, Marist, and Bard Colleges, the College of Saint Rose, and SUNY Albany. Students and workers together aimed to weigh in on the financial hit taken by TAP in the proposed NYS Budget. While it looks like this year's cuts will be fully restored, there's some concern regarding the future of the program and whether reform is needed to maintain its financial viability in light of the economic challenges our state is facing.

Coordinator Rich Drucker said, "It is my hope that we will have an even stronger showing next year to make an even louder statement that students, workers, and SEIU Local 200United are committed to ensuring the program is not scaled back in any way."
