Human Services Division

HSA Worker PatientAfter two years of lobbying SEIU members won federal legislative language that allows state and local governments to develop training programs and evaluation criteria that will improve the skills of paraprofessionals

SEIU Local 200United represents more voluntary human service agency and child care workers than any other union in Upstate New York.  Our members work with mentally ill, developmentally disabled, and emotionally disturbed clients as well as children in Head Start other programs.  Through the C.A.R.E. Organizing Project we are working together to improve the quality of client services through increased staffing, standardized training, statewide certification standards, reduced turnover, and a voice at work!
