Human Service Agencies
Helping Consumers Lead Fuller Lives
SEIU Local 200United proudly represents Human Service Agencies throughout NYS; our members are vitally important to the health and wellbeing of their clients, as they care for and help consumers in their daily lives.
New York State relies primarily on private Human Service agencies to deliver quality care in the Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities (MR/DD), Mental Health (MH), and Foster Care (FC) industries. Employees at these facilities are so important to the health and well-being of their clients, but this is not evident in their low wages, meager benefits, and poor quality training.
SEIU Local 200United is committed to improving the lives of workers, their families, and their communities. We formed our union to fight for statewide and nationwide issues in the workplace: “We are constantly lobbying for better wages, health benefits, pensions, and health and safety protections for our members,” said Jerry Dennis, President of SEIU Local 200United.
When we succeed in improving wages, benefits, and working conditions we can reduce turnover, improve methods, and use our voice to secure even better care for our clients.
At the right, there is a list of Human Service Agencies we are privileged to represent; each link will lead you to the worksite specific webpage which includes stewards, union representative and recent news.
