the va is under attack. we’re fighting back.

In the courts, in Congress, and in the streets, SEIU members have led the fight to stop the overreach of this administration and the near constant attacks on workers’ rights. Here is some of what we’ve already achieved together:

  • Secretary Collins threatened to layoff more than 80,000 VA employees. Because of pressure created by SEIU members and our partners, that plan is down to 30,000 through normal attrition only, no forced layoffs.

  • During the budget reconciliation process, SEIU and our allies worked to eliminate provisions that would have further attacked federal workers with things like higher retirement contributions, weaker worker protections, and filing fees for utilizing the Merit System Protection Board (MSPB)

  • Our legal team is supporting litigation with partner groups against the attacks on rights and protections for federal workers and unlawful reductions in force, both of which are on appeal and still awaiting rulings

JOIN THE FIGHT

To protect each other, our union, and our ability to keep fighting for ourselves and our patients, members in the VA should sign up on the SEIU 200United VA Membership Portal, an online system where we pay our dues and sign our membership cards.
